Young school stars enjoy a taste of Fame
Around 300 children put on their dancing shoes and stepped out for Ansford Academy's production of the musical Fame.
Pupils from the academy near Castle Cary got into the show spirit staging eight performances based on the 1980 hit musical film that starred Irene Cara.
They were joined by nearly 200 Year 5 and 6 pupils from local primary schools.
The pupils used acting, singing and dancing to tell the famous story of students who attend the New York High School of Performing Arts and have to work hard to gain success in the creative world.
Suzy Jones, director of the production, said: "More than 80 Ansford Academy pupils enjoyed participating in eight performances of the fantastic musical this half-term.
"They performed to delighted audiences – together with Year 5 and 6 pupils from local feeder schools. Everyone gave their best, producing yet another remarkable and memorable show."
Performances began on Monday, October 15, and continued throughout the week with evening and matinee shows.
The other schools involved in the musical were Castle Cary, Keinton Mandeville, Evercreech, Ditcheat, North Cadbury and Countess Gytha primary schools.
