Issue date: 07/03/2006
Wednesday 15 – Saturday 18 March 2006

The Olympus Theatre, Wise Campus, Filton College, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8QT

Students from the Centre for Performing Arts at the University of the West of England will perform the vibrant musical Fame at the Olympus Theatre, Filton from 15 – 18 March at 19.30 with a matinee on Saturday 18 March at 14.30.

Fame – itself the story of students at a School for Performing Arts in New York - is aptly suited for a University production. The show charts the progress of the students during their course at 'PA' and explores the changing relationships between them and their teachers. We see how the joys and frustrations play a part in their progress and the show ends happily (with one exception which will be revealed when you see the show!) at the graduation ceremony. It will be a show full of energy, comedy, sparkling music, dance and drama. Songs from the musical include I Want to Make Magic, Let's Play a Love Scene and There She Goes/Fame. They embrace a wide variety of styles from spine tingling ballads to foot tapping rock.

The show is directed by Alex Turasiewicz and choreography is by Jacquie Bell with assistance from Lucille Villa-Mayor for the ballet sequences. Set design and costume are by John Cousins. Ian Henderson is the producer and musical director.

You are promised an unforgettable evening so book your tickets now!
