The West End Musical Fame makes its Middle East premiere at the First Group Theatre, Madinat Jumeirah on July 13 as part of the highlights of this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises.

This highly successful stage version of the Oscar nominated box office smash hit 80’s movie and Emmy winning TV series played to millions of people for over ten years in London’s West End. It was nominated for two Olivier awards and has been seen in over 50 countries worldwide. Last year, the smash hit remake movie brought Fame to a whole new audience.

Fame the Musical follows the students at New York’s School of the Performing Arts through their tough, four-year course. We see them coming to terms with life and relationships: we see those who persevere, who are resilient – and those who are not. Above all, we see them perceiving the need to strive for excellence to be the best actor, singer, dancer or musician that they can be. Fame is one of the best loved musicals of all time.

Fame is about real people, desperate to be the best whilst life gets in the way. Including the hit songs ‘Fame’, ‘Dancing on the Sidewalk’, ‘Bring on Tomorrow’, ‘In L.A’ and many more, it is a fantastic chance for audiences to experience the stage version of this gutsy, energetic and exciting show. Dance fuses with action. Pumping rock and pop rhythms fuse with beautiful love ballads. Ballet, drama and music all come together in a myriad of colourful images in an explosion of youthful energy. Fame is the original ‘Got Talent’ show!

The show features a cast of some of the West End’s best performers, who have performed in such international hit west end shows as Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, Blood Brothers, Jerry Springer the Opera and Sweet Charity alongside Dubai’s hottest upcoming talent.
