Raritan Valley Community College Presents 'Fame - The Musical'
The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will kick off its 2016-2017 season with 'Fame – The Musical' on September 25.

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will kick off its 2016-2017 season with Fame – The Musical, Sunday, September 25, at 3 p.m. The performance is part of the Theatre’s Mainstage series.

The pop culture phenomenon about New York City’s legendary High School of the Performing Arts lives forever in Fame – The Musical. Based on the unforgettable Academy Award-winning film and Emmy Award-winning television series, the show offers a full-throttle journey through the struggles, fears and triumphs of young artists navigating the worlds of dance, music and theatre. This riveting, high-octane show features the Academy Award-winning title song and a host of other catchy pop numbers. Nothing short of an international sensation, Fame – The Musical continues to reach new generations of performers and audience members, inspiring them to “light up the sky like a flame.”

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer: “Perform is what the buoyant musical Fame does, dance number after exhilarating dance number, song after sweet song, never losing sight of its mission to entertain.”

As part of the presentation, RVCCArts will hold an Open-Mic Night to discover Fame-worthy local high school talent, Friday, September 23, from 6-9 p.m., at the Theatre. At the end of the evening, a panel will select seven singers to participate in an informal performance for audience members prior to the September 25, 3 p.m., performance of Fame – The Musical.
