SELSIG Operatic Society have received best wishes from two former members as the society prepares for its December production of Fame – The Musical.

Sarah Lark, one of the twelve finalists of the BBC’s quest to find a Nancy for the West End production of Oliver said: “’My days at Selsig were fantastic, they are a hugely talented company and I thoroughly enjoyed playing Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and the title role of Annie, in the musical of the same name.

“I am sure they will wow Rhondda theatregoers with this upbeat and modern musical.”

Laura Selwood, who is currently playing Lisa in the West End smash Mamma Mia also sent a message to the society.

She said: “Being in Selsig made me realise how wonderful it is to be in musical theatre.”

After leaving the footlights of the Parc and Dare behind, Laura went on to study at the Mount- view Academy of Performing Arts in London graduating with a 1st class honours degree in musical theatre.

The society would also like to wish the girls the very best of luck in their careers.

Fame – The Musical is being staged at the Park and Dare Theatre, Treorchy from December 2 until December 6.

Tickets are available from Kay on 01443 438053.
